WHAT’S IN MY SHOWER CADDY?
As I’m sure you are all aware, I have a bit of a beauty product obsession and sometimes I even think to myself that it is getting out of control. For a blog that publishes new posts four times a week, I have been having to get a new post up nearly every day to be able to cover the vast amount of products that I have wanted to tell you about. Whilst cleaning up my bathroom last week, I thought of an idea in which I could periodically tell you about several products at once, especially those products that take some time to use up. The ‘What’s in my Shower Caddy?’ post will be a seasonal saga, in which I can let you into an insight of which products are being used religiously. As it’s supposedly Summer, with this beautiful rain shower that is occuring right outside my window, the products in my caddy are for a summer beautiful body and hair of a beach goddess.
I used to have all my products just gathered on the end of the bath until I spotted this metal in-shower caddy on the Next website at a bargain price of £12. It’s made of a rust resistant material and sits inside of my shower screen, making it super easy to grab what I need, when I need it.
In the top tier, I keep the things I use the most such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I make a huge fuss out of washing my hair, but it’s the drying and styling that I dislike the most. My hair has got so ridiculously long that it takes an ages to get it dry. With it being so long, I need to look after the condition of it, as it tends to get very knotty and also seems to be getting too many split ends for my liking. I’ve been using a shampoo and conditioner by GNS, an independent brand who’s hair care line is made up of just three products. The shampoo and conditioner both contain Argan oil and macadamia oil which not only smell incredible but help with restoring moisture and retaining colour vibrancy. Since using GNS, I have found that my hair doesn’t need to be washed as frequently and the ends of my hair are more supple and less prone to breakages. I’m still only halfway through both bottles although I seem to have been using them for ages.
You may have noticed that I have three different body washes in my caddy, but there’s a good explanation as to why. It’s all to do with my sleep pattern of course. I like to have a body wash packed full of essential oils as they relax me and get me ready for bed. The Buddha Beauty Company Orange Blossom and Lemongrass body wash is infused with essential oils and makes my skin feel wonderful and myself feeling all serene. I’ve also been using the Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish before a body wash to buff down my skin. It promises to tighten and tone which so far I haven’t seen, but I have noticed that my skin is looking a lot more glowy now the excess dead skin has been buffed away.
I have a very intense skincare regime and I cleanse, tone and moisturise twice daily at least. The Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser has remained a firm favourite of mine for quite a few years now. I have several in my back up due to the S&G Christmas gift sets. I mainly use Peaches and Clean in a morning, when I have cleansed properly in an evening and have literally just slept overnight. It’s not brilliant for a deep cleanse and to remove all traces of makeup but I find that it leaves my skin feeling fully refreshed and awake and soft to the touch. It’s a great morning energiser and I love the scent of peaches.
I like to treat my locks to a weekly deep intensive conditioning to get that moisture locked back in. Being in various climates, and especially working on a aircraft where I suffer from dehydration, I find that it affects every part of me. Dehydrated hair is no fun, especially when it starts breaking off. Having a good hair care routine is so important and I find that when combined with the GNS shampoo and conditioner, the John Freida Beach Blonde Kelp Help Deep Conditioning masque gives a good shot of hydration to my hair. It leaves it untangled and smelling and feeling great. I do find that sometimes I have to leave it on for longer than the recommended 3-5 minutes for a more intensive hit.
My other two body washes are by Molton Brown and I like to use these as a treat rather than just a mundane daily body wash. They are a little bit on the pricier side, but you only need the smallest amount on a body polisher for a huge amount of bubbles. The Molton Brown body washes can also double up as bubble bath. The Pink Pepperpod fragrance is my absolute favourite, and it the feminine version of Black Pepper, which I can’t get enough of. I prefer to use Pink Pepperpod in the winter as it’s a very warming fragrance but I’ve found that it has been helping me to sleep. My newest bottle is of the Honeysuckle and White Tea, which is a very graceful and elegant scent. I’m saving this until I’ve finished Pink Pepperpod.
Finally, and saving the best until last, my new toy; the Foreo Luna. Exclusive to Look Fantastic, the Foreo Luna is a cleansing brush that deep cleanses and focusses on anti ageing by using different intensitities of pulses. I have only had this for just over a week, and have used it twice daily so far. I’ve already started to see a difference as it has started to unblock my pores. The impurities are starting to reach the top of my skin and I’m seeing blemishes, which although unsightly, it is a great sign that the Foreo is working on those problem areas, most noticeably my nose and chin. I’m going to do a full blown review on the Foreo in a few weeks time, so keep an eye out for that.
So, there you have a little insight into what I have been using on a regular basis. If there are any routines or what’s in posts that you would like to see, leave me a comment below!
